On 26 April, Regulation (EU) 2017/644, which sets out the sampling and analysis methods for the control of dioxin levels, dioxin-like PCBs and non-dioxin-like PCBs in certain foods, has entered into force and Repeal Regulation (EU) 589/2014.
In particular, Annex II sets out the sampling methods for the official control of the substances listed in the foodstuffs listed in Section 5 of the Annex to Regulation (EC) 1881/2006. Annex III, on the other hand, prepares samples and analyzes for the control of levels of dioxins, furans and dioxin-like PCBs. Finally, Annex IV sets out the requirements for analytical methods for the control of non-dioxin-like PCBs.
